Sanctuary Cove Village: Cafes, Restaurants & Local Amenities
Explore Sanctuary Cove Village on the Gold Coast - great cafes, restaurants, IGA, Australia Post, and the Intercontinental Resort. A local's guide.
There are many small suburbs within Hope Island like Sanctuary Cove which is nestled between Hope Island Resort and Santa Barbara.
I often bicycle, drive or even golf buggy down to Sanctuary Cove Village. It's relaxing and very safe with some great cafes and restaurants.
As you drive into the village you will find plenty of parking and on the left (or first exit on the roundabout) is the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort.

The IGA and Local Shops
One of the stars of the "cove" is the IGA which is pretty much open every day of the year. Reading the sign on the IGA it looks like it has recently been bought by Jones the Grocer. I have also heard from one of my mates who live there that they are going to add another 200-300 sq m to the building. I am not sure when they will do it so we will have to wait and see what happens.
Now next is the Australia Post, which also acts as a newsagent and Lotto outlet. They are really helpful in this Aussie Post branch and with parking only 20m away I usually go there.

Harbour One Development
On the other side of the village is the new property development "Harbour One" - these will have some great views and overlook Pier A of the Sanctuary Cove marina.

Getting Here
There is also a reasonably frequent bus service to the cove, just check the timetable online. There is a shelter and it is about 50m to Bistro19 - which is one cafe I go to for a good feed.

Cafes and Coffee
I also like Rise, which seems to be run by French operators. Their sourdough is great and really all their baking is top notch.

However for consistency and taste Native Harvest Cafe wins the best coffee award for my taste. Always friendly and also they have a great range of nature-orientated food offerings. A slightly cheaper option is to get a coffee from the IGA.
Restaurants
Anchor Buoy has recently closed as have some other shops in the village - so it will be interesting to see who opens up there.
There are some great restaurants in the village also, featuring steak, Mexican, Thai.
My favorite however is George Paragon, which is consistently good and has a fantastic comprehensive menu. If you have not been here then you need to give this one a try.

There are Italian options and the Fire Restaurant in the IHG hotel for the higher end dinners.
Keep exploring
